SIG P229R-ESE and the Roster

FFL to FFL question:

I was looking at the Roster AND the list of Sig P229's in the DROS system. Neither place lists the Sig 229R-ESE as Sig's specific CA model. Looks like the P229R Blk is all that is listed. This would mean a non-CA model would be legal (without the 15 round mag) as far as the roster is concerned. Any ideas from you experts?

The Roster says:
P229R Enhanced Elite (Black) 229R-40-ESE / Stainless Steel; Alloy

and the DOJ DROS entry is:
P229R Enhanced Elite(Blk)

Yes, you happened upon one of the most interesting entries. Originally it was listed as E29R-40-ESE, which is the model with the so-called high capacity magazines. Then it got changed to 229R-40-ESE, which is not the CA model, but I suspect that it is meant to be the CA model.

So, does this mean that the CA version, 229R-40-ESE-CA can not be transferred? Perhaps or perhaps not. The problem is that not all of the information is listed by the CA DOJ and so sometimes you have to call and ask. Personally, I would assume that it should actually be the CA version, but then again if you have the non-CA version, that specific model is listed :-).

You might get hassled if you transfer a non-CA version, but I doubt that it would go anywhere since that model is listed.
