The roster lists:

P239 (Blued) / Stainless Steel, Alloy Pistol 3.6" 9mm 1/1/2016

I see two at the distributors.

239-9-BSS and 239-9-BSS-CA

Can we only sell the one marked with the CA in the model #? I don't see anything in the DES that designates those model numbers and it only has the generic info that is on the roster.

The list does not give ALL if the info and can be wrong.

Basically it is a good assumption that you can only sell the CA version unless the buyer is exempt. In one case the model number is listed and it is not the CA version and for a while it was the so-called high capacity magazine version (229R-40-ESE, for example).

I figured it was a safe assumption that only the ones with the CA serial is good but it's quite confusing when the roster is so generic.

In some cases there are no CA versions. I have to wonder about when they list the model and it is not the CA version. Does that mean you can't transfer the CA version? :-)

It is possible to ask, but you have to get in contact with the department which has all the info. The people answering the phone don't know.

I didn't even bother calling the DOJ knowing that the people on the phone wouldn't have a clue.

I'm more curious on whether some dealers would just transfer the SKU 239-9-BSS.

Also the website list one Sku and the DES system list another. Are we suppose to check both? What if they conflict? Do we use the website or DES model?

Like we don't have enough to worry about.

I actually don't understand the difference between the CA version of the P239 and the standard version. LCI and Mag DC wasn't implemented on the P239 yet and I believe that they both have night sights. Mags are a non issue as both models hold sub 10 rounds.

Not sure why Sig added the CA version to begin with.

Also, I noticed Glock only list by gun model #. Are we able to purchase a Glock 17 with 17 round mags and then switch them out with 10 round mags and DROS?

This is assuming that they are both still gen 3 and not made in USA.

I would only transfer a firearm in which I believe that it is on the certified list. Anyone who does otherwise is a fool and anyone who posts that they would do otherwise is stupid.

Thanks for your help Kemasa! I do have the high capacity magazine permit which is why I was wondering if it was an option to swap out.
