Isaiah 55:8-9 is my favorite when I need to be reminded that just because I/society doesn't understand something, doesn't make it right or wrong. God can give instructions without us needing to know why.

God does not require his believers and followers to stamp out, suppress, kill or attack those who practice behaviors that are contrary to his written word. Which by the way is an Islamic practice. Instead, God states, "It is mine to avenge; I will repay. In due time their foot will slip; their day of disaster is near and their doom rushes upon them." Deuteronomy 32:35, and "Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord." Romans 12:19. However, we are called to separate ourselves from those who practice sin, and to judge sin, which is simply verbally identifying sinful conduct.

To counteract the God of the Bible, our society has created labels for Christians by characterizing us as fanatics, extremists, intolerant and hateful. If one takes the time to analyze each of these labels they will realize that they do not truthfully describe Christianity.
