    Christian Denomination Alignment Quiz

Might be boring for the non church goers because it is a long 63 question quiz. It then shows you a chart where you are in relation to a few denominations. The chart result for my quiz only shows a few churches because that's the way it works. There are over a hundred denominations and that would be too many icons and would clutter the chart. My church is a normal Reformed Church (Calvinist) and it's a relief the AI knew I was close to it.

Vertical: High Church means formal liturgy. Low Church means informal Sunday services. And left/right is liberal or conservative Christian beliefs.

"Old Catholic": Protestants left the Roman Church in Luther's day, the 1500's. Followed soon after by the Calvinists (also called Reformed). The Orthodox had already left the Roman church centuries before that. And the "Old Catholics" left the Roman Church even earlier, way way back in time. My chart doesn't even bother to show Roman Catholic, based on my answers.

"Mega Church" are famous single large auditoriums like for instance Joel Osteen's on TV that has a sort of streamlined gospel and huge crowds every Sunday in one giant building.

"Progressive" are the very liberal theology churches.

If I had answered the 63 questions different, than the chart at the end could have shown maybe Congregationalist, Amish, Jehovah Witness, Lutheran, Episcopalian, Adventist, Pentecostal, and so on and on.

President Trump took heat for one time quoting he said from Two Corinthians instead of Second Corinthians. But many HIgh Church denominations usually say Two Corinthians, Two Timothy, or Two Thessalonians, instead of "Second". It's a denominational thing. Trump's main church for fifty years was in a swanky local New York City suburb congregation. Presbyterian USA with it's famous pastor Norman Vincent Peale (The Power of Positive Thinking).

Notice the formal suits in a confirmation at his Sunday School (D. T. in back 2nd from right)

The Orthodox didn’t leave the Catholics - the Pope was one primate among five and we say he’s the one that left the four.

catholics say he was “more equal” but the historical record doesn’t support that.

so… all Protestants should realize they are/were “protesting” against a flawed Church that had indeed broken away from its roots and truth. (Flame suit on!)

You're right, and I was wrong about that.

I also recognize that there’s an element of “well, that’s like, your opinion, man” to stuff that happened 10+ centuries ago. So my understanding is - to me- reasonable and historically factually supported. But I’m not a scholar of early Christianity so I have to acknowledge the limitations of what I know. That being said I do think the Orthodox Church has a lot more old-school vibe (to me that’s good).
anyway - people of faith are mostly on the same team (I say this with good buds who are Muslim and Jewish in mind particularly -they’re good people even if we differ on some religious things). I feel more in common with believers of other varieties, than with atheists.

It was for me as well. Not 100% correct and not so much in terms of my 'alignment,' but in terms of what I was 'taught' growing up.

Yeah not perfect. I think some of the questions didn’t have the nuance to cover everything. I got generally conservative but I’d probably self rate a little more conservative but I some questions didn’t have perfect answers for me.

But for a ballpark estimate it was pretty close.

                  Methodists aren't progressive?

                    Came in Orthodox/Lutheran-

For questions I didn’t know my Church’s stance on, I used my best judgement to answer (like contemporary media etc)
"Let criminals out. Let illegals in. Let boys in the girls bathrooms. Condemn police officers. Abort babies. Pervert the children. Condemn Christians. Accept barbarity in the name of Islam. Overtax the hard working people. Coddle the lazy. That's the liberal way." -from a posting on "Yahoo"
