The beast out of the earth

The question gets asked a lot, "where is America in end times prophecy?" There are two beasts, one out of the sea and one out of the earth. We know that the sea represents a multitude of nations. So then the earth would be the opposite, a place sparsely inhabited. The first beast is the Catholic Church, rising out of the nations and sitting on seven hills. So is the second beast the United States, rising out of the land? And does the second beast eventually create a state religion that demands mandatory worship of the first beast? It's easy to get caught up in the raging leftism over-running America, but ultimately I think the bigger threat comes when the pendulum swings the other way. Remember, the Antichrist is not the opposite of Christ, but an imitation of Him.

I do believe they have roaming the Earth for longer than we think.

I am not a Catholic. But I would like to address the bold parts of your inquiry. Back in the late 60s early 70s it was a popular belief that the Catholic Church was this city sitting on seven hills. But there are other cities that meet that criteria, including Jerusalem and Mecca. See List of cities claimed to be built on seven hills So, take the seven hills description as a clue when studying prophecy.

Regarding the state religion, we know that is coming. But who could it be? Check out Revelation 20:4...

      Revelation 20:4
      King James Version

4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
We have another clue. There is only one religion that will behead you for not believing as they do. That religion is described by John as a beast. That religion is Islam. There is no other religion existent that beheads so called unbelievers.

Regarding the last bold part in your post, you are on the right track. The antichrist is the offspring of Satan, the seed of the serpent mentioned in Genesis 3:15.

So, where is America in all this? Why is the greatest nation in the history of earth not mentioned in the scriptures? Perhaps we are the iron mixed with clay part of the image that is crushed by the mountain in Daniel 2:41-43? (We are very divided and fractured.) The end times are about Israel and not about us. After Revelation chapter 3, the church is not mentioned again. It is all about Israel from there on. Is the USA preoccupied or eliminated by disasters like civil war, some jihad or earthquakes? God only knows.

But believers in Jesus Christ have nothing to worry about. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

regarding america: just by observation is in decline due to satanic policies. the gub does things that doesn't advance anything productive but destruction so we are rotting from the inside. from open border to corruption in the highest including fbi, doj, irs, lawlessness and soft on crime approach but persecuting law abiding citizens and christians. so much more to mention but we all know what they are so .....

the persecution in america hasn't reach the level of persecution in muslim countries and india yet until revelation time.

jack phillips in colorado who is a christian baker has been sued by the state and lgbtqwxyz+ couples for refusing to make a special cake for them.
a florist (barone) of washington also sued by gub for not catering to lgbtqwxyz+ and other christian business owners (photography, website designer, specialty shops, etc).
fbi/police arresting christians protesting abortion and lgbtqwxyz+ evn though they were on the opposite side of the streets. just look at authorities treated blm/antifa compare to christians protesters. very telling!

I was taught, growing up as SDA, that the "Beast out of the Earth" was the United States. As "viragoman" posted, "waters being peoples/nations". I was taught that the bare earth signified the lack of people, and therefore people had to come into to the place to form a nation. As the US did.
Then it would act as the 1st beast(the great Dragon), which is the Catholic Church, and persecute the saints, ie. those who loyally followed God and kept the Sabbath.
Again, that is what I was taught, growing up, and all throughout school. I NO LONGER believe that. Quite frankly, at this stage, I am not sure what, or who, the little beast is.

The US, as we know it is a relatively young nation for which there is really no significant reference to in the Bible. It is a stretch to try to fit the United States into one of the end times labels. We are more like Tyre and Sidon which, at one time, held the titles of the most prosperous and successful business and trading centers in the known world but the Phoenician empire as a whole only lasted about 1,000 years. If you look at America currently, we are at about the 500 year mark and we have already started a rapid decline so I do not see any reason to suspect we would qualify as a major end times player.

Gdr_11, I?ve seen a minister try to apply Daniel?s vision of the tree in Chapter 4 as applying to the US. As the description of what the tree does sounds more appropriate to the US than to Babylon. But, the jury of me is still working on that one.

I doubt Islam is the second beast, because they do not have a leader who claims to be Christ. That's why the Roman Church seems more likely. Remember, the anti Christ is an imitation, not the polar opposite. There is a rich tradition of beheading in church history, so I wouldn't let that trip you up.
Then of course we have the question of Babylon. Who is Babylon?
When I saw the world trade center collapse, I was reminded of this: Revelation 18:9 ?The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, 10 standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, ?Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.?
It seemed like an accurate preview of a future, similar event.
