Pastor Tim Keller has past away May 19th,23

One of my brothers gave me one of his books that I just started reading. Didn't know anything about him or his views but enjoined his commentaries from his podcasts and reading his book.

God bless him and his family.

Any comments on the passing of Pat Robertson? I am remaining silent, but surprised there apparently is so little reaction.

not 100% agreed (who does, right! )with him but he'd done a lot of good in spreading the Gospel:
            - he's the reason why christians coaliton was formed to help elect candidates (i think).
            - their operation blessing is helping so many in need (u.s. and the rest of the world).
            - their Superbook is a success especially outside u.s. bring children to Christ at a very young age.
            - orphan's promise is another program they have that my wife and i support including the above.

I've spent many hours listening to Keller preach. Never attended the church that he pastored, but I have listened to many messages and read a few of his books. He was exceptionally gifted but he also worked purposefully and consistently, and his messages are deep and often very thought-provoking. Typically I will usually listen to his messages at least three or four times to make sure I am tracking completely. I may stay on a particular message for a week or more, depending on how much drive-time I have in that week (I often listen during commutes). I've shared some of his messages in this subforum, and it is worth to mention that shortly before he passed, he made all of his messages free on the Gospel In Life Web site. You can download them and do as I do, storing them on my mobile for playing whenever I have time to listen.

Keller was very smart and a careful thinker; I have great respect for him and his work. This interview he did with Eric Metaxas just over ten years ago is worth watching: Metaxas and Keller

As for Pat Robertson, someone tweeted "I hope he repented before he died," and I would agree with that. He was a false teacher, something which is widely agreed upon.

I would respectfully disagree. You won't find many (if any) writing something like this with regard to Keller.

It seems you never even make the effort to read or watch anything anyone presents as substantiation of claims you don't like, yet at the same time never really offer anything to counter those claims beyond your assertions.

i was sending checks to different christian ministries before switching to automatic deduction. if i die and my "daughter" found the receipts, did that mean i was tricked?

                      - she doesn't know if her mom was giving it as a monthly support or for whatever reason.
                      - her mom had the right to support what ministry she desired like you and me.
                      - God didn't make us millionaire (yet) for our monthly support. does that mean we got trick into giving?
