My Legacy Standard Bible (LSB) arrived today!

I am gleeful!

The anticipated delivery date for the first publication was in December 2021, so this is an early Christmas present!

The pocket-sized LSB translation of the New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs was published a while back and I have been using it, but I am excited to have the whole Bible.

Below is a quote from what I wrote about the LSB in the "favorite translation" thread in October 2020.

ESV and NASB, though I have been leaning back on the NASB more and more during the past couple of years.

For anyone who is not aware, a team from The Masters College and The Masters Seminary has been given the responsibility to review the NASB word-by-word for purposes of verifying the translation, and making minor refinements as needed with the end result being an updated version of the NASB that will be called the Legacy Standard Bible.

Among the changes that are anticipated is translating doulos (δοῦλος) as slave as opposed to servant. I became a staunch δοῦλος = slave proponent some time before MacArthur published his wonderful book Slave. (My insistence that δοῦλος is to be translated as slave is one of the reasons I like the HCSB, even if it is not one of my primary go-to translations.)

I plan to transition to the LSB when it is published.
