        Ye of little Faith.

I can think of many times in history that put current events to complete shame. Only He knows the time and day.

        That is all.

I'm not a religious man, however I always remember something told to me a long time ago, by a religious man.

(Para phrased, I don't remember the exact words or chapter/verse(s)), "God is not with you in this world, he has given you Satan instead. If you can survive Satan, you can be worthy of god."

I kind of take that literally. I live with Satan everyday, but I hope to one day be able to be rid of him, and bask in the glory of God's love, and understanding.

I feel we have been abandoned by God, but only so we can see the glory?(if that makes any sense at all? That's the way it was explained to me, once upon a time, and (being a person of so little faith) it makes sense.

It's almost a Hindu understanding, the better you do in this life, the better the next might be....enlightenment....karma....and all that good ****!

I wouldn't call it abandonment. I'd say free will; to make whatever choice we want with his gift of sacrifice/attonement on the cross for everyone and their sins.

Just a matter of accepting that gift by belief.

I have chosen to accept that many years ago. Life has never really been "easy" for me, but I can guarantee that he has stepped in in many instances to help my life not be worse.

This thread is a good reminder when our lives get "too busy" for God. That's on me and I ask for forgiveness for that.
What have I gotten myself into...?!?!?

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

We are not promised a "fun" life here on earth. Scripture is not about us, it is about God. God does not exist to serve us, we exist to worship Him.

When times are easy the Church falters. When times are tough the Church excels.

We need to take our eyes off of ourselves and our condition and put them on Him.
