Sure, there have been many crisis before. But none with this many people living on the planet at one time.

There have been crisis which occured during a time when the world population was the largest it had ever been. So I guess there is "precedent". But not at this scale.

There are almost 8 billion people. Since the 1970s the world population has been growing at about a rate of 1 billion every 10-15 years.

Note that from 1900 to 1953 the world population "only" grew by 1 billion.

So yes, something "big" is going to happen. Not sure if it is the second coming, but it will probably be "biblical" in scale.

Humanity is destroying the planet. We are simply overpopulated. It cracks me up when scientists talk about it via climate change. Its really not that complicated. Too many people, not enough resources. Thats it. At some point there will be some kind of collapse or a cascade of collapses.

If I had to guess, within 20-50 years a lot of people will die. If I guess again, it would probably be by starvation, disease, war, and people fighting locally over scarce resources.

Im glad I dont have any kids. We've reached our apex as a species, its all downhill from here.

TBH something big is always around the corner. What you think people felt during WW1 and WW2. When nuclear bomb hysteria with USSR was going on? You may be right the next something big may be indeed bigger due to the amount of people in this world, but outside of nature getting flipped upside down quickly, any human-caused one will be more of the same.
