A couple nights ago, I had a dream kind of out of left field, which has had me wondering about it because it's not something I've been thinking about. In my dream, I came to understand what was happening and that the events were biblical in nature. I'm curious if others have had a similar experience.
To sum it up, the sequence of events in my dream were very reminiscent of what's written in Revelation 9:1-9:15. I was sitting somewhere watching the sun set, and when the sun had almost completely set, it rose back up a little bit, and then a column of smoke rose from the ground which completely covered it and darkened everything.
Then, out of the smoke came four fierce looking armored beings on horseback (angels?), but able to fly through the air, which in my dream I understood to be there to bring justice and judgment to mankind, and they began slaughtering many. One of them came up to me, sword raised, and I was very scared waiting to be stricken down, but the (angel?) left me and moved on.
After that took place, I remember walking around the streets of whatever town I was in with my family and many of the people were gone, and in my dream I understood them to have been killed. So I suppose that represented the 1/3 of mankind gone? That's the last of what I remember.
Now I know there's a gap given what I remember from my dream and what's written in the book, and I don't recall anything about scorpion-like locusts in my dream, so I have no answers for that. The whole thing just struck me as odd considering it's been a long time since I've read Revelation, and I don't remember much of it in detail, so I had to read that section again after having that dream to compare.
Now I'm not saying it was something and I'm not saying it was nothing, I just don't know. As I said it's not something which has been on my mind, so I'm not sure why I would suddenly have a dream about it, and the fact that the events seemed to be biblically accurate is intriguing to me. I don't know if it's logical to believe God is speaking to me, telling me "these things are coming soon and you're going to live to see it, don't be afraid" or if that's reading too much into it. How could I accurately dream about something of which I definitely do not recall details about?
Just looking for insight, and if any other believers in Christ have experienced similar dreams. Thanks.

9:1-2 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
9:13-15 And*the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.
