A HUGE thumbs up to this post! Grouchy you are indeed my brother! There is a local university a couple of blocks from my office. And the saying there is that every blade of grass has the name of a donor on it. It bothers me when people donate for their own glory and gratification. I look at it as God's money; not mine. To God be the glory!

Nothing at all wrong with this, however I don’t believe there is anything wrong with known giving either. I think the situation can dictate which. Of course WE know it is God who is behind all good... He IS all Good! But how many who have been given a gift through anonymity, felt a strong desire to want yo thank the person responsible? I know I have. Even in light of thanking The Lord. (A given). So, while certainly there is no wrong in it, I don’t necessarily believe it should be the focus. I do know some would feel almost “cheated” because of NOT being able to thank a person. We can not simply assume that everyone will thank God. We know in fact, that most people won’t.Comment

One of the easiest methods I've come across when it comes to doing something while remaining anonymous is donating via something like GoFundMe and keeping your info private. This method works for anyone, and is especially good for those who are stuck at, whether due to the current situation or health issues.
Another one I am fond of is leaving food and water near a sleeping homeless person (cautiously, as they can be startled).
Which ever you choose, God bless you and your purpose.Comment

See what you think of this one : Walked by a guy sleeping on the red bark by the Jack in the box joint near to my home a couple of years ago. He had been there a couple of days. I bought a extra burger and drink and handed it to him as I was leaving, ' thank you sir " he said two or three times. Thank Jesus not me I said twice and left. Never saw him again.

This thread reminds me of Matthew 6:5-6; “And when you pray, you shall not be like the [b]hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you [c]openly."
I believe doing good in private is a corollary to the above verse.sigpicComment
