My main issue with it is we let freedom of speech, and playing to the minority sections of society, trump freedom of religion. Free speech and free religion are supposed to be separate. Instead religious groups are pressured, in some ways forced, to accept people who their tenets expressly condemn. If Christianity says being gay is a sin, pick or start a religion that doesn’t say that. Instead a small portion of the country want that part of the Bible ignored and to be accepted. It isn’t enough that they can participate and attend. They want to lead, they want endorsement. Why not start your own religion, ala Mormons, where someone stands up and says “I had a vision and wrote this new separate book, we are a different type of Christian etc etc”.
I have no issue at all with homosexuals, or any lifestyle, I just have an issue with anyone forcing others to support their life choices. I smoke cigars, like tattoos, and drink a lot. I have a lot of relatives and even a few friends that don’t like that. They tolerate me. I never ask or expect them to support my choices in it. Actually, my lesbian friends over the years have all liked those things too! And I have said many times that if I identified as a woman I would also identify as lesbian. But that would be my choice and another person validating that isn’t necessary to me.
A Gay Jesus is pandering. And stupid frankly. “Oh I know, let’s become hero’s to 4.5% of the population that LGBQTM. It won’t alienate or anger the 22% that are catholic”
I would like to see a parallel universe type show, like Man in High Castle, but where women in the Middle East aren’t persecuted, or better yet the balance of gender power is completely flipped. Talk about getting people talking!!! A middle eastern society with women in positions of power, educated and leading! That would provoke serious consideration of ideas. Netflix call me, I want at least some credit for the idea if you use it

I see it’s supposed to be satire. As long as they balance by making fun of others groups then it isn’t an attack or politically motivated. So I want the Brazilian group to give me credit for my alternate Middle East narrative
