The fig tree is a gentle fruit bearing thing The fig tree senses things we miss.

Grew up with 2 fig trees in the back yard. They die from cold back here. Figs sell for .80 to $1.29 each if you can even find em.

had 2 in my backyard. when fig's were just about ripe we had to race the flock of every bird in the area that came to eat them. all throughout my youth, the trees never predicted a thing.

The last few years my fig tree hasn't produced any fruit beside a half dozen figs which either the beetles or birds got before me.

Makes me wonder now, tree is about 30 years old how long they live. Came from my first house 25 years ago which my lab decided to dig up the tree when it was little and drag it across the back yard. Hardy tree, replanted with fence around and survived a transplant when we moved.

In years past I actually put a net over the tree to keep at least the birds from eating all the figs. Just have to contend with the beetles. I used to use a bb gun on the beetles but that was before Kalifornia became a nanny state.

I'll let you know if the end is near based on my fig tree.

Jesus cursed a fig tree because it was standing there, looking good but bore no fruit. It's a message to the church. Don't be like the Jews or you'll be cut down and thrown into the fire.

A tree is known by its fruit.

Sorry to interrupt this religious discussion but I had a warning about fig trees.
Cutting parts of the Fig Tree sometimes produce a sap that will "burn" or semi-permanently and possibly permanently stain some human skin.
