    It seems that the Pope wants to change the words in the Lord's Prayer.

    'That is not a good translation, because it speaks of a God who induces temptation', the pope said.

    "A father doesn't do that, a father helps you to get up immediately. It's Satan who leads us into temptation, that's his department."

    It is a translation from the Latin vulgate, which was translated from ancient Greek, which was in turn translated from Aramaic, the language spoken by Jesus.

    The Pope suggested a slightly different rewording: "Do not let us fall into temptation."

    Makes sense to me.

    Just another issue with translations in the Bible.

    doesn't the Vatican still use Latin anyway?
