I've had my ups and downs, some self-induced, but overall looking back I have so much to be thankful for. I am where I am today by the grace of the Lord. I've survived situations I am very lucky to have survived. I've made some terrible decisions which could have seriously been detrimental to my life in many ways, yet I've persevered through it all. I know I've been forgiven for things I still have a hard time forgiving myself for, and that's just amazing that God loves us that much. I am almost 40 years old, but when I think about my relationship with the Lord, I have no problem seeing myself as His child, and now that I have a son of my own, that relationship is that much more special.

This is definitely a great reminder to be thankful for every day and the innumerable blessings I've had in my life, this year included.
