my exposure to religion probably puts me in bottom 1%, but even I knew by age 8 that Muslims accept Jesus as a prophet, just not the last prophet, but that Jews most definitely reject Jesus, both in the Bible story and especially today.

Muslims (real ones and African-American fadists) are fine with people telling them about Jesus, and participating in pro-Jesus religious activity, even allowing their kids to take part in Christian church activity unsupervised by any Muslim adults.

Serious Jews rankle at any attempts to Christianize them, or their kids. You'd be better off offering their kids illegal drugs.

Ok....how does the play into Bernie Sanders thinking a religious person shouldn't serve in government?

As far as being raised in a religion, I was raised completely secular. Think of the regular non religious, non church goer family and that would be my family.

Its just funny that the very religious Trump nominee seems both profoundly ignorant of the basics, as well as truly "prejudiced". You can't spend 2 minutes with any "real" or African-American Muslims without finding out they are perfectly OK with and pro-Jesus.

Like how a Colombian will find a way to work in that he is a Colombian, not a Mexican, but different.

Makes one wonder WTF else is running around inside this dude's head, enough so that he shouldn't be allowed in Govt or any other responsible position.

Reminds me of how all the military brats were super-anti-Communist, but also thought their totally Govt controlled socialist life "on base" was superior and should probably be enforced on the rest of us for our own good. And "on base" wasn't just in principal Socialist, it had the same smell and feel of a Commie regime, with lots of forced happiness and wholesomeness. There is gonna be a game of horseshoes and you are gonna go and have a good time from 3 to 6.

          2) Don't you think it is rather presumptuous for Christians or anyone else to tell God who God can let into heaven and who God must exclude? Just sayin.

          3) Back in the 60s the John Birch Society told us that the Commies were going to take over this country without firing a shot. It appears they were prophetic.

Good points. IIRC Nicky Khrushchev said the ideals of Christianity and Communism are basically the same and he was right. I'd like to add that both have no room for "how about something else?" whether that is physically and militarily enforced or just their "position".

Someone asked a Pope recently "Should people be free to practice a different religion?" and he said "They have the freedom to be Catholic" (unless The Church ex-communicates you lol) and she prodded him and he stuck to that non-answer.

You can't tell a Commie "I'll be a part-time Commie! I'll give you MOST of my stuff, no strings attached, but I'm going to keep a few things for myself that I'm not going to give to you". Nope, they wont like that at all, and will skulk away plotting to murder you first chance so they can take it all for The Cause.

You seem to think the nominee was the one who brought up religion. Bernie Sanders is the one who brought it up. If you are a Christian then of course you're gonna believe in its tenants other wise you're not a Christian.

Muslims do not believe Jesus is the Son of God so of course from the Christian point of view they are wrong. They believe Jesus is just a prophet and He didn't die on the cross but instead Judas died in his place and Jesus was taken and didn't die. Totally incompatible with Christianity. This would be no different than a Hindu believing Christianity is wrong, are you going to say a Hindu can't serve in government?

By your reasoning an Atheist shouldn't be in government either because they will discriminate against the religious (80%+ of the population) "because they are stupid and believe in a sky fairy" right?

LMAO......guess you never understand that volition and free will is the basis of Christianity. Heres a Christian calling on the military to do evil things while begging God to help......
