Tom, you made it about you. You answered me when you promised not to and did so with a personal attack. You did not glorify God in your response but don't like the fact that I pointed that out.

Excellent answer. Paul gives a general principle using the most mundane of examples to show that all we do is to be the glory of God. And, this is the verse most-quoted for glorifying God.

Colossian 3:17 and 1 Peter 4:11 are two other places that come to mind where there are specific commands/applications that include this general principle:

Col3:17 Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

1 Pe4:11 Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

I would think this did not need an explanation but; By better place I mean that I would like my life to have added to the betterment of the world or mankind. This could be something huge like Salk or Pasteur or something as simple as raising a child to contribute to society.
