    The war on Christmas...

During this time of year, as Christians all over the world are celebrating Christmas, Islamic state leaders are banning Christmas celebrations in their nations. Check this out:

And, it's not just happening in Muslim countries. It's happening here in the United States, too. American institutions are giving in to political correctness:

There is a war on Christmas and practicing Christian traditions in public. As a conservative and as a Catholic, this greatly disappoints me. America is slowly giving up its Christian roots. This is disappointing, indeed.

    Merry Christmas! --1911ShooterPhil

Seems to me you either have to celebrate none or celebrate them all because ... the Constitution.

Actually Christmas was outlawed in Massachusetts until 1870 because it was considered a "pagan" holiday by the descendants of the Puritans. It was not until President Grant made it a federal holiday that the celebration became legal.

You're talking about the Establishment Clause and Free Exercise Clause of the 1st Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. I couldn't venture a guess whether more citizens would be in favor of celebrating no religious holidays or celebrating all religious holidays. I wonder what would Thomas Jefferson say, since he coined the term "separation of church and state." --1911ShooterPhil

No, you don't understand that everybody knows this is a Christian nation so fairness doesn't apply to the one true religion that the nation follows.

Just kidding, they should all be treated the same and people should worship as they see fit in their own lives.

Merry Christmas to all the believers, and to the atheist, agnostic, secular junkies, intellectuals and to the rest who don't know if they're boys or girls.

Fun fact: the only president who banned Christmas trees in the white house was Theodore Roosevelt. He thought the killing of trees for Christmas was a negative environmental impact.

Can you imagine if this happened today, people would lose their minds lol.

Actually, celebrating the pagan holiday of Christmas was literally illegal throughout this nation from the time of the first British colonies until long after the founding of the U.S.A. Those who participated in such celebrations were subject to fine and/or arrest. It was not a day to celebrate Christ.

IIRC, all Christian denominations forbade the celebration of Christmas in any way, except for the RC, Anglican, and Lutheran.

Congress met on Christmas; stores remained open on Christmas; it was just another day.... except to later European immigrants who brought with them pagan traditions of drunkenness, debauchery, and literal rioting in Christmas day.

Most of this history may not be common known, but is not hard to find. For those who celebrate this day to honor Christ: Merry Christmas. To those who celebrate it as a pagan holiday: bah humbug.
                Regarding the 2nd Amendment:
"...to disarm the people ― that was the best and most effectual way to enslave them." George Mason ("The Father of the Bill of Rights")

                Regarding Life and Death:
"Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Matthew 10:28

The BIG question: "What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ?" Matthew 27:22b

The enemy hates any remembrance of the day that Jesus was born into this world as a man of our flesh. From that little baby came the Man who knew no sin and Who defeated evil on the cross. Is it so surprising that the minions would stop at nothing to discredit this day including ridicule, passing laws, making mock of the true meaning, or causing it to be a source of debauchery? It is all par to the spiritual warfare that has been one for eons. Look at it with spiritual eyes, not physical ones.
