Stephen Colbert Attempts To Convert Bill Maher

The video below is from Bill Maher's recent appearance on the Late Show. Stephen Colbert actually has a pretty strong Catholic faith. While your brand of faith maybe different than Colbert's, what do you think about Maher's responses and comments about Christianity?

Maher is such a jerk I can't stand to listen to him.

Looks to me like Maher was moderately offended to be invited back to Catholicism. Maybe a little flummoxed, caught off guard. Got hostile.

Colbert is funny and likable.

Bronze Age myths? Silly stories? How can you argue with that?

I saw that when it aired. Not Bill Mahers finest moment. I have seen him on a number of talk shows and he never is the same as when he's on his own show. Sucks not having complete control of the content, haw Bill.

Not a fan of BM. He's more like his initials namesake as far as I'm concerned (a large pile of s...). Not really that thrilled with Colbert either. But he is sometimes tolerable.

As for the religion thing, well you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

Maybe Im in the minority here but I actually despise both of them, but if anything Ill give the nod to Maher for calling out Libs on some of their hypocrisy. Colbert may know how to say a prayer but that doesn't absolve him from the fact that he really worships at the house of Big Brother. Losers sister even tried running for senate in South Carolina a few years ago (obviously as a D) if I remember correctly. Colbert was furious and whined like a teenage girl when that state didn't elect his sister.

Eh, I thought Maher held his own ground well enough. If anything, I don't think Colbert really put forth a compelling argument to someone who simply doesn't believe.

Not sure what I should do. I consider Bill Maher to be one of the hugest hypocrites on the planet, and don't want to give any click credit to that other clown I never found even remotely amusing.

Those to stances totally go against Catholic teaching.

You see a lot of that in "Christian" churches too.
I think a lot of people are tricked into to thinking that if they go to a church and do some ritual that they are saved.
Jesus said that person must be born again, when a person is born again there is a lasting change in that person, that change is going to be evidenced by their attitude and behavior.
A person who is born again is going to have the Spirit of God dwelling within them, therefore they will no longer be arguing with God. When God says that something is wrong that person is not only going to be in agreement, they are also going to see that topic from God's (its true) perspective.

How so many people who claim to belong to God and yet still argue (rebel) against Him is amazing.

If a person is arguing with God that's rebellion. Example: "I don't agree with passage..."
If a person doesn't believe what God says that makes the person a non-believer. Example: "I don't believe passage..."

So guys like Colbert are still in rebellion against God, it doesn't matter how much church they get.
He needs to repent, ask forgiveness and submit to the Lordship of Christ.
