Okay, so when I posted this up a few nights ago, I was just sitting back looking at my sweet little family thinking about how grateful I was to have them- I had no ulterior motive in posting this simple thread- I just felt moved to say thanks to Christ in a way that others might be able to see. AGAIN, I didn't feel overly compelled to post , I was just a happy Christain guy with 3 or 4 beers running though his system.
Fast-forward to today... I'm not going into detail, but my 6-year-old nephew saved my 2-year-old daughters life. It got me thinking... It's easy to thank God for what we have and love when we have it. It would be soul-crushing to lose a child. I want to cherish every day I have with them and be the best dad I can be. Regardless of my children, I don't thank God enough for what I have.
If you feel compelled to thank God (or the God of Abraham, or Allah or Vishnu----> or any damn higher power for that matter!), I'd like to see this l continue as a "thank you God" thread. You DON'T need to give a reason or backstory as to why you are thankful- Just post why you are thankful, and let it roll...

So I was kinda pissed when I saw this thread was moved to the "Faith Forum".
Earlier tonight I was talking to an Atheist, (a rather prominent Atheist on this forum), and the topic of religion and faith was not discussed- Just two guys talking about random Internet/gun stuff. He was obviously a great guy, and I'd love to talk to him about my faith in the future, but I don't know him well enough yet to get into those deeper conversations.
When I posted my initial edit to this thread earlier tonight, I didn't intend to start a debate about religion and/or religious faith. My intention was to simply start an ongoing thread letting anyone post a reason they might be thankful for.
Sometimes, I think we as Christians get too caught up in feeling we need to automatically compartmentalize, define, and give a strictly defined outward appearance of exactly what it is we stand for.....
Why not try let people see and share what is great and/or joyful about their own lives, and then use those positive attributes to potentially lead them Christ? The discussion does not need to start from a faith based ideal (or forum- in the case of CalGuns), but rather a topic that should be discussed I an open forum- thus reaching more people. The overarching point I'm trying to make is that I'd like to see this thread moved back to the OT forum..... Hell, I'll even volunteer to moderate it if the powers that be see fit.
