    Help Me!

Folks, I am about to take the most challenging career path of my life. I have wanted this for years and years, and am finally ready. I am taking the path to become a peace officer. My academy starts very soon with a horrifying day one.

What are some motivational/inspirational passages I can read?
    I fly everywhere backwards.

"There is no greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

I'm a candidate for a department in the Bay Area. I may be attending an academy in a few months possibly.

      Good luck and Godspeed.

Also I don't know if you noticed this powderedtoastman but your first post of this thread above ^^^ was number " 911 " of your posting here at Calguns.

(it's the number below your location and above your iTrader rating on the right side of the page.)

maybe you did that on purpose... or

              Philippians 4:6-7
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Psalm 23:4 - Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Easily one of the most well-known verses in the Bible, but definitely applicable to many situations you may find yourself in as a peace officer. I wish you luck and God's grace upon you as you undertake this journey.

Your question seems to allege that LE is a bad thing.

I would say with your awareness of God...and such. You will help people and save lives. Go for it.

I am a former law enforcement officer, and one of my good friends is a Chaplain for a police department. He hand I have had many discussions about law enforcement and God.

Read Romans 13:1 states; "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God." Through this verse, I infer that police officers have a divine appointment. Be worthy of that appointment and do good, and remember you are an agent of God, and two of His prominent characteristics are mercy and grace. If you seek God, he will guide you when to exercise mercy and grace.
