    Why I couldn't be Catholic

By Philip Pullella TURIN, Italy (Reuters) - People who manufacture weapons or invest in weapons industries are hypocrites if they call themselves Christian, Pope Francis said on Sunday. Francis issu...

If my churches minister espoused a view of such intolerance I'd have to find a new church. With the present leadership on the Catholic Church I'd have to find another way to enjoy my beliefs in God and His way.

Yep not too happy. You won't see me feeding the collection plate for awhile.

Someone here once said "Catholics voting democrat is like an unborn fetus being pro choice". Sad to say but very true.
Some say that he once mooned two prostitutes just for a round of drinks, but wasn't surprised by the reply......They call him, the Hutch
Some say that he rode a dirtbike 7k miles across the country and that he once applied Bengay to his own testicles for a mere $50............They call him, the Hutch -Top Gear

I get what he said but I think he was lumping the entire gun industry as a whole and not separate individuals. You can't knowingly manufacturer a rifle used to kill a human (murder) and call yourself a Christian. Like you can't call yourself a Christian and be pro-baby killing or pro-homosexual.

Problem is, self-defense is biblical and Jesus said nothing about sporting use of weapons, BUT HE also did not have an issue with weapons, or HIS Apostles would not have carried them. PLUS, the pope is not taking into account the individual.

The Church is corrupt like most churches have always been.

God created rocks and Cain killed Abel with a rock so I guess the pope condemns God.

I was raised Catholic Christian. Killing is often not murder, and the tool to killing has no intent, rocks are traditionally used for killing and for murder so should purveyors of rocks not be Christian/ Catholic?

Religion is what you make it. Anyone who speaks about something they have no experience with is naive. You will encounter many people like this in your lifetime. No one will alter my beliefs. I am a Catholic and my goto to protect my family is an AK. Yes, I went to church today.

The Pope is the leader chosen by humans, but not representative of all Catholics, just like Obama is the leader of the USA. This Pope is a joke, and needs to step down. He's a political activist before the leader of the church. I, too, take communion, with my Kahr on my hip, and believe in my heart that Jesus has no issues with it.

As the Apostles carried swords, God would not have an issue you carrying your Kahr.

How could you disagree with the Pope if he's infallible?

I'm pretty sure he has no trouble, the pope I mean, having his Vatican Knights do business with a weapons manufacturer.

The Swiss Guard is indeed heavily armed and very well trained at lethal force. But I guess since they don't manufacture the weapons the pope is okay with them?

He's only infallible under a set of very specific circumstances. This isn't one of them.
