I'd like to pray for the men and women of Calguns on this Father's Day. I hope that God bless you today and forever more.
Lord, I want to lift up the men and women of Calguns today. First the dads. They have an awesome responsibility and the burden can feel heavy. I pray that you'll give them strength, wisdom, love, and patience to fulfill the responsibility you gave them as fathers: To bring up your children in the discipline and instruction in the Lord and to do so without provoking them to anger.
To those fathers who have raised their children into adulthood - a job well done. Well done my good and faithful servant. Yet, fatherhood doesn't end there. Please give them the will to finish the race.
To those who are waiting to be a dad. Your will is perfect and good. Please reveal your will to those who are waiting. Whatever the outcome, you have a plan for their lives.
To the dads who lost their child, you understand their pain and sorrow. Father, you lost your own son on the cross for our sake. But there is hope in the resurrection when one day we'll be reunited with our loved ones.
To those whose fathers have passed. Lord, will you tell our dads we said, "I love you and I miss you."
This day could be painful for those whose relationship is strained with their children or their own dad. There is hope in God's healing.
And for dads who have passed away, there could be resentment towards them or guilt for not having been a good son or daughter. Will you help them forgive their dads and also to forgive themselves.
To those who grew up without a dad - you are the father to the fatherless. You will never forsake them.
Lord, thank you for being a good dad to us.
In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
