I'm so sorry. You'll meet her. We lost one in utero, our second at about 21 weeks. We have four sons with us, I like to think that one is my daughter.

My ex and I lost a child too. It's almost impossible to find reason or meaning, and at a time when answers are crucial. I hope you all who experienced that have found some kind of comfort.

Come on, science is just trying to apply mathematics to what exists and what can be observed. Science and Astronomy are accepted by the Vatican.

(I am not Catholic, but it's a great start - esp after what happened to Galileo).

Do your homework. A lot of science/tech folks do believe in a higher being, and see no contradiction in what we do.

I do believe your first statement is not correct. Didn't Hawking recently state God was not required to start the Big Bang?

Given singularity as a starting point (a concept called the "Cosmic Egg", developed by , a Catholic priest) was there a universe prior to the big bang?

On a serious note, I would ask if certain events in my lifetime occurred because of free will; or if I was always destined take a specific path all along and certain forks on the road put me back on that "path"?
