Do you mean LASD Reserve officers? Palmdale doesn't have its own police department. Instead, the LASD provides law enforcement services there and to neighboring Lancaster.

Yes reserve LEOs can buy off roster pistols

The LASD Reserve is a great organization. I have worked with many of those guys. You can train / work your way up to working a one man car, which is the real deal.
