That's how your state classifies them. Arms Unlimited is a good retailer in my experience.

Yes ASSAULT RIFLES. That is how California classifies them so for the people in California including Law Enforcement Officers who can not own them without acquiring an agency letter they are called ASSAULT RIFLES.

Even law enforcement officers have a hard time acquiring permission to own these and many opt to go with a bullet button version of the rifle which we also offer.

I am wrong about what? California law classifies the majority of the Colt rifles as "assault rifles," it does not mean I agree with the law but it is what it is.

Colt is releasing a new family of 308 rifles, the MARC series, there are some very affordable models approximately $1500, more details to come. They are also releasing a California compliant model

I don't believe the term "assault rifle" ever appears in the PC so they can't be classified as such.

however, they can be classified as an "assault weapon".
16200. Use of the term "assault weapon" is governed by Sections
                30510 and 30515.

Whatever you want to call them, they can't be had by the majority of people in California, so why argue semantics?

This post was meant to let departments and individual officers who browse these boards know they have a new highly competitive option in the state to source whatever they may need from Colt.

I appreciate that AU is willing to do business with LEO's on California. They didn't write the nonsense nanny state"assault weapon" laws so give them a break.
