wake up call in Paris

It's not if but when something like the recent Paris terrorist attack happens here will you be ready? We cant wait for a swat team to arrive. We are it. Is your long gun qualification up to date? Extra ammo and armor ready to don in a moments notice? Do you train donning your active shooter gear? Do you shoot in it? Do you train with your partners on your shift?

Quick story, the head training guy at my unit was showing the new trainees how prepaired he was. He had about 250 rounds of pistol ammo and 200 rounds of rifle ammo in his bail out bag. All nice and neat IN THE ORIGINAL BOXES, NOT IN MAGAZINES! His ballistic helmet still had the plastic wrapping on it. I asked him how he planned to load magazines under fire. I was never invited back.

All this gear is nice to have but if you don't train with it, its useless in an emergency. Its only a matter of time before a nut or nuts with assault weapons start shooting at people we took an oath to protect. These nuts are training for their jihad today.
