Maybe you will have to go to a uniform shop and try one for yourself. There are many companies making them and the shops carry various manufacturers. Many agencies are going to the nylon sets now. I have nylon set issued to me couple of years ago. I still have the leather set, but I never use it anymore.

        A. E. Nelson nor Tex Shoemaker. Try your best to try one on; all makers can run small/big.

Nylon = no squeaking. Wore leather for 12 years. We changed to nylon and I noted I was much quieter. Nylon also flexes more and tends to be more comfortable.

But your Ol skool cats dont like change, so they will say leather. My ol Sargent used to call us spoiled for having radios on our belts. He had to find a phone on pole to call for help. He would say leather is best.

I got the Bianchi laminated basket weave belt to replace my 1970s recycled department issued belt. I like it.

I'm a younger cat and I like leather personally. As a duty belt, not a gimp mask, you sick sick people. Think mines a shoemaker belt. After years its broken in nicely, black has worn away a bit.

I switched to nylon after a back injury. Lighter and more flexible than leather.

Akers makes the best leather gear out there.

+1 for Aker. I have a nylon duty belt and still prefer my Aker leather with my Ted Blocker drop swivel.

I run a Bianchi accumold elite belt. I know it's not real leather but it has worked great for me and majority of my department.

How big? I've got one lying around if I remember it's 32" or 34".

Old school i prefer the leather gear, I like that it stays put. Doesnt seem to flop around and feel flimsy like nylon does. I'll look up my stuff when I get the station tomorrow and see what brand it is. Just get real leather stuff not the accumold
