It seems there's a whole lot of "cop bashing" going on lately. I don't understand why so many people are so quick to side with a P.O.S. thug instead of someone who puts their *** on the line every day for our safety. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, and it's not going to make any of you guys feel all warm & fuzzy because someone put a nice post on Calguns. I just felt compelled to let you know that, I for one, have the utmost respect for you guys and THANK YOU! I hope most people feel the same, even though the media makes it look otherwise. That is all.

A coworker was shot in the face and killed a few years back in a random attack. It moved me to tears to see the number of good citizens who took the time to express condolences and their respect for his sacrifice.
Its good to be reminded there are still good people out there. Your thoughtful comment has more meaning than you know. Thank you.Urban legends are a poor basis for making public policy.Comment

Op.....Can't tell you how bad I needed to hear that. I read your post to my troops today in briefing.
Thanks and stay well.Knives don't stab people, cars don't drive drunk, eating utensils don't make you fat and pencils don't mis-spell words.Comment

I'm glad to hear you guys appreciate the praise. I'm not even in law enforcement and it pisses me off that most people I know think so highly of Active Military & Firemen(as they should), but see LEO's as the bad guys. I guess people just don't want to be accountable for their actions anymore, and they don't have the mental capacity to understand that the guy who may give them a ticket is also the guy who keeps them safe. I wish all the Cop Haters could start their own little community with no law enforcement, and we could televise it and just watch. I've met some LEO's that I really didn't care for, but had I not BROKEN THE LAW, they wouldn't have stopped me and introduced themselves in the first place. It's amazing that I didn't get shot or an *** whooping... oh wait, maybe it's because I didn't try to FIGHT with the officer!
If anyone else that's not an LEO reads this thread and agrees with me, please take the time to thank them. It sounds like they wouldn't mind hearing it once and a while.Comment

Thanks Crud. It is truly appreciated. And who comes to our aid in times of peril? Sometimes, it is the police or first responders; other times it is healthcare professionals; and sometimes it is family, friends, or neighbors. Sometimes, it is no one."... - U.S. District Judge Stephen McGlynn.Comment
