Mainly, they will be confirming any possible irregularities from the written psych with any additional questions as might be needed. Also, seconding what the others have said about thinking before you speak.Comment

Good advice from above, but as with many law enforcement psychological exams, you neither fail nor pass. What the objective usually is to see if your personality, decision making, behavior and so forth fit into the department standards. Sometimes an applicant will go through multiple department psychologicals and not get recommended for hire for some and "pass" others, while behaving and answering identical questions. Good luck.Comment

We can't tell you what to expect, because we don't know how you answered the questions and we don't have access to the parameters that the department is currently applying.
The thing to remember is to be truthful...don't just give the answer you "think" they want to hear.
Another thing is to remain consistent. This requires well reasoned responses, that is why you need to give thoughtful, rather than spontaneous answers.
Know the difference between being committed to an answer and stubbornly defending it.
It is said that any street cop who has been working for more than 5 years can't pass the departmental psych eval...there is a certain amount of truth to this. But I know enough folks who have sat on the other side to know the common pit falls...because the journey is the worthier part...The Shepherd's TaleComment

Dont be a false hero. Yes you've cheated at a game and yes you've sped on the freeway. be consistent and realComment

Be honest, not only because you should, but because being consistent is easiest when you aren't trying to make stuff up as you go. In the hour long session, after going over my basic information again (I guess to make sure I really was me), I was only asked two questions besides the clarifications. The majority of the evaluation was me sitting there quietly while he typed.
Basically, they are going to look at your test scores and test you again on it. They are going to have you verbally answer what you wrote down to see if it's the same. I saw that I had scored high on defensiveness (which I can be very much so), so it made sense he was pressuring me and tried to get me to become extremely defensive over the two questions he asked me. That goes back to what 9mmepiphany said about knowing the difference between "being committed to an answer and stubbornly defending it." They will also clarify certain answers because you'll likely mark at least one of the 567 questions incorrectly. I had to clarify that I actually do not see hallucinations of animals and some other crazy question. I just told him I was in a hurry to get the test done and marked the wrong bubble.

Always be truthful! Don't sugar coat or hide anything from your past. Be honest and be accountable. Make sure you "have learned from your mistakes" and not repeat them. Have good eye contact and communication skills during the interview. Don't be fidgety and nervous. Many DQ's come from candidates being less than truthful. If you successfully complete the process and get into an institution, maintain honesty and accountability. Good luck!Comment

I am in the background process now.
I have been told by many current CO's to just be yourself, be honest and if they ask "if you ever did this or that" just answer truthfully.
