Downey Officer shot last night

He was shot in San Bernadino serving warrants during a joint task force drug bust.

News said hits to butt, arm, and vest.

Anybody in SoCal LE have any first hand news as to condition?

Perp died at scene. No tears here.

Sounds like the wounded officer was released from the hospital and back at home with his family within 6 hours of the incident.

Sounds like the wounded officer was released from the hospital and back at home with his family within 6 hours of the incident.

Good job LA IMPACT!!!!

I worked that group in the late 90's. A great group of very experienced officers. working some of the baddest crooks in California. There have been only a very very very few shootings involving LA IMPACT officers over the three decades IMPACT has been in existence.

The article is in error about LAPD being in charge of the group though. It is independent, however does have a few LAPD officers working in some of the different groups.

This is a relative of mine and to those wondering he was released that night. Family spoke with him the night of the shooting as soon as he was released but he wasn't in the mood to speak about what happened - really who is? All is well, thankfully, and at home recovering!

As a side note, but related; my agency had its second OIS just in that week. Both times where guns were pulled on the officers. Please EVERYONE stay SAFE!
