    Sadly, also this. ^

Its being said around the station that why should we arrest (cite & field release) dopers when he/she will be free to go score more dope right after he/she's handed the citation. Scumbag will be high and capering before we have written report and booked dope.

And for what? A future court date 2-3 months in advance that the doper ISN'T going to even show up to! Oh, then a MISDEMEANOR warrant will be issued with a low bail amount so the doper can be cited out on the warrant because it doesn't meet the minimum bookable amount.

Like TPT said, these scumbags have daily habits. Habits that prevent them from holding down a steady job. So how do they support their habit? By stealing from those who work for theirs. Homes, car batteries, cellphone snatches, chain snatches, and straight up armed robbery.

How do I know? Because I've responded to all the above, coordinated calls with an airship (thank you TPT), and taken the reports.

EVERY SINGLE R/C 496PC suspect I've arrested was a drug addict! Coincidence? I think not.

I could give two sh*ts about a forgery suspect getting his gun rights back. What I do have a problem with is a drug addict/gangster getting gun rights. Or more likely, a drug addict getting a softer sentence because he NOW has no previous felonies...

    My opinions:

    1) Californians should have to pass a test in order to obtain the PRIVELAGE to vote.

    2. The world would be a better place if being stupid, hurt.

Gnome- bingo. And if they aren't getting picked up for the misdemeanor, then how do they get into the "new" court mandated treatment?

They won't. Besides, all the dope cases got pled to that before anyways, and it kinda worked because there was a hammer above them. Now its a tissue.

In the current drug trend class I recently took the stat was dopers need to steel $1000-1500/day worth of retail merchandise to fence and fund their $50-80/day habit.

And that is probably counting only what they steal and not taking into account any property damage that they cause while stealing stuff.

When this law causes tidal waves of associated property crimes, voters will throw their arms up in the air stupidly and blame anyone and everyone EXCEPT the actual people committing the crimes.

Snarky pseudo-intellectual progressives are high-fiving each other over coffee as they blog about this "victory" on their iPads. Hopefully they won't get 211'd or carjacked for their Vespa by a Prop 47'er on the way home.

Stealing a firearm under 950 is a misdemeanor but possession of a stolen firearm is still a felony.

I thought prop 47 made it a misdemeanor if you received stolen property under 950. That would constitute possession right? I'm not a legal expert but I am aware that a lot of laws do contradict other laws. I found info related to prop 47 here http://www.lao.ca.gov/ballot/2014/prop-47-110414.aspx.
