Just some reading material if anyone is bored sent to me from friends around the state..
LA Times (yes, I know...) had an article mentioning that the some ACLU-types and privacy advocated are beginning to bemoan the use of body cameras by the police. Funny thing is; many of their concerns are the exact same that I and others in law enforcement have been mentioning all along: do we really want a police force that records/keeps rape victims in their darkest hour, citizens in a bad neighborhood trying to whisper a "thanks" for arresting their gangbanging neighbor, a woman's birth on the side of the road, etc, all in full 1080p?
Fresno Bee reported an incident out in Fresno in which a presumable high subject started assaulting an officer who responded to a bloody male in the street whom citizens thought had been hit by a car. A citizen struck the suspect with a crowbar as he assaulted the officer but it hardly fazed him.. I have read a few/had direct encounters several times over the past month with citizens stepping in to help law enforcement. It makes me happy to see/read about good people stepping in to help LEO's one way or another.
