    Black tee shirt recommendations?

For those of you who are required to wear black tee shirts under your uniform shirt, which shirts do you recommend? My uniform policy at work is switching from white to black undershirts, so I'm trying to get some feedback from those who already wear them. In essence, I'm wondering if I should just buy a 4-pack of Hanes or Fruit-of-the-Loom 100% cotton tees at Wally-World, or spend a little more and get some kind of fancy shirts with "cool-max" technology, or whatever they call it. I'm in Southern CA, and keeping cool in the summer is definitely a consideration!

5.11 tech tees. 3 pack. Decent. I like them. Good fit. They are a little longer so you can tuck them in without any issues. They do tend to trap some stink in them after repeated wearings under the vest in my opinion.

Been wearing 5.11's moisture wicking ones for a few years. They work well. Wash them in Woolite Dark and they don't fade out.

This. The new sports material seems to wick away sweat and breath much better than cotton. Makes me feel way more comfortable.

Either the 5.11 black shirts or some of the basic black t-shirts from Oakley are good and can be found on www.oakleysi.com.

Any of the "performance" fabric shirts are your best bet. They also hold color quite a bit better than plain old cotton shirts.

I like the Nike for fit and durability. Under Armour ones I had faded too quickly. 5.11 ones did not last long. Nike ones are a little more $ though.

Odd, 5.11 seems to be known for having really long-lasting, durable pants, at least.

Champion workout shirts work very well from Target.

If you're looking for a middle of the road option between Hanes and Underarmor, I would suggest Gildan brand plain black tee shirts. They have really good fade and wear resistance and they don't break the bank.

I work for an agency that doesn't have a uniform allowance or reimbursement so I have to be frugal where I can. Then again I also work for agency with a little more latitude in field wear than most. A black tee with an external carrier with identifiers is sufficient for me.

I got some from target and they seemed to have lasted for a long time. They do a good job and seem to wick pretty well (think southern heat and humidity with a nice heavy vest an poly uniform top). I was pleasantly surprised.
