There is a reason the public can't review a c-file. The information is confidential. As would be any info from that file you want to give to someone who is not privileged to view it. If you have been doing this a long time, is it worth losing?

C-files??? who said anything about divulging information from c-files. Parole conditions have nothing to do with c-files. As far as losing my job... Giving out public information won't get me fired... Check my threads above, I haven't mentioned anything about giving out confidential information.

As it was explained to me, even if the information you are accessing or sharing could otherwise be obtained through public records, the fact that an individual used their position and permission to access said information through their data bases rather than public access terminals (public computer at your local court house for example) for a purpose that is not considered "authorized" by your agency, you can be charged with the above named code section.

Hey Brother, sorry if I insulted your intelligence. I've been on a pretty long time and am now a supervisor. I've seen guys go down for some stupid sheet. My post wasn't meant to insult you, it was simply trying to keep a brother out of the grease. That's what we do on here sometimes, offer advice that may save a career. We all didn't know if you were some rookie or a 30 year veteran who would know better.

WyattandDOC I totally understand where you're coming from. I'm with you on too many staffs losing their job over stupid sh*t. I guess OP's question made it sounds like he needed to know someone's special conditions, but that's not the case. This guy OP is referring to is not even on parole. This guy is about to get release and OP wanted to make sure that he gets a special condition due to his commitment offense. So there is no divulging confidential information and no C-files(???) involved. Don't even know why someone would mentioned c-file. Anyway, I'm not that stupid nor naive to risk my career on over someone I've met on-line. However, I do believe in victim's rights over parolee's rights. That's why I was just trying to help out the OP. Your advice and concerns well taken!

Parole conditions have nothing to do with c-files.

While you did not mention c-files, parole conditions are kept under the parole tab of a file. CDC1515 notice and conditions of parole would be there. I do apologize if you are offended but i have seen many people walked off for less.

It's all good lonewolf71! I guess there was a misconception due to the way OP's question was worded. But I assure you that there will be no confidential information released by me to an unknown party whom i met from online.
