When I read this one I immediately thought about people that claim that the police are the ones creating the Us v Them attitude.

2. The vast majority cops have never shot anyone, but most cops can recite a detailed list of people who are/were deserving of being shot because they posed a deadly threat. This means that most cops have successfully defused a potentially deadly confrontation using only words and less-lethal weapons.





You aren't a cop are you?
I can think of at least 20 occasions where I would have been perfectly justified in shooting the person, but was instead able to resolve the situation without having to shoot the suspect. No cop that I know wants to shoot someone unless they absolutely have to.

That reminds me of a watch commander I had. Always talking negative about donuts and coffee but would have two or three 'healthy' muffins and a two liter of Diet Coke on his desk during graveyard shift. Worst lieutenant we ever had and we had some bad ones. Apparently when you reach 300 pounds you get to be a captain and after two years in a secluded office you get to retire.
