3 days ago a friend of my son in law, who is a diabetic passed out in his apartment. His carpool partner became worried when he didn't answer the door. The guy opened the door and found him unconscious. A call to 911 brought an ambulance and the police. He was and still is in a diabetic coma.
The police found needles and suspected it was a drug overdose. They dumped every drawer in the place, overturned the couch and went through his closets.
My SIL lives across the street and rushed over when he saw the police and ambulance. They were in the process of dumping drawers. He told them to look in the fridge and they would find his insulin.
He had nothing illegal, so they didn't find anything. My question is, can they do this without a search warrant?
