I'm looking at possibly lateraling over to San Mateo. Just had a few questions. Thanks guys

I don't work for San Mateo SO. I do know a bunch of deputies. No one I know, other than a guy who had issues with an on-duty injury retirement, lawsuit, etc. has regretted going there. Especially if you come from a municipal PD. The only negatives that I can see are that if you screw up, you get immediately transferred to the jail. Great pay, ok benefits, and a number of different assignments, what's not to like.

Decent agency. They get paid well and one of the highest in the state as far as S/O's go. They go back and forth with the ACSO on contracts. They are hiring and are growing faster than they can hire. Building a new jail. They've been on and off rumored to take over EPA and Pacifica. Like every agency, there is good and bad.
