How Can LTC Holders Make LEO Stops Less Stressful?

    Hello,

I fully realize that being a LEO is not exactly the most glamorous or the easiest job in the world. You guys have long hours, put up with a lot of crap, and put your lives on the line every single day. Still, many of us here appricieate the service you guys render and understand it's not exact a job for everyone. So, with that being said, how can a LTC holder make your life a whole lot easier and stress free during a traffic stop?

Now I pretty much know the drill if I am ever involved in a traffic stop. Basically, just keep your hands on the wheel, illuminate the interior of the car as best you can, state that you are a LTC holder and that you are armed, and follow the officers command. However, different LEOs have different ways to approach a traffic stop. Some folks prefer that you follow each of their commands to the letter while others are more relaxed.

So how does the majority of the LEOs would like LTC holders to respond when they are involved in a traffic stop? The way I am approaching this issue is that I want to make things as easy and stress free for the LEO in hopes of potentially getting a pass.

For me, just do that (I edited it slightly, I really don't like people reaching around to hit the interior lights). Or you could hand me your CCW permit along with driver's license/other paperwork if that makes you more comfortable.

We dont get killed by bad attitudes, cursing, liberals or conservatives. We do get killed by three things; Hands, hands and hands.

Show the hands, let them know you're LTC, follow his/her directions whether they're a nervous wreck or as cool as the other side of the pillow. You'll be just fine.

Knives don't stab people, cars don't drive drunk, eating utensils don't make you fat and pencils don't mis-spell words.
