    At home Inteview Apparel

I am in the hiring process with a local SO and have an At-Home Interview with the background investigator tomorrow and was wondering what is appropriate to wear. I know that from the time of your Oral interview you should always dress to impress business. However I'm unsure if it will come off as weird wearing a suit in my own living room. All advice is appreciated and thank you in advance.

Dress to impress. I would wear a suit still. In addition, its probably more important that you residence is kept organized and clean. The environment that you live in tells a lot about the person.

Luckily cleanliness is not something i have to worry about as I live in a small apartment with my fiance who is, for lack of a better term, a neat freak lol

Appreciate the advice about keeping the Business attire.

At least you know he is coming.

My BI dropped by unannounced one evening when I had a couple of friends over...luckily, we were just watching a movie on TV and eating popcorn.

I don't think I owned enough stuff, at that time, to be messy

Yea we set a date and time but I am in a similar situation as you. I just moved to this apartment 2 months ago but in that time I have either been away on military TDY or out preparing for my studies at Sac State. My apartment is still fairly empty from picture from on the walls with no pics in them to empty bedroom with nothing but a bed and dresser lol

I would not stage the place too much, I'm willing to bet BI's can sniff that stuff out. My place is pretty bland he looked around and I just commented well I don't have much decorating sense, which I don't... My first the BI showed up randomly to speak with my neighbors and I just happened to be home.

Seriously though… A button up shirt with slacks and nice shoes should be fine. Bust out the suit for the interview panels. Good luck!
