I am reluctantly moving to the disaster of a state california within the next 5 years. I am moving because the wife has the better job and she always wanted to live in CA. My question is, I will be a retired Ohio State Patrolman with approximately 15-16 years of service. I carry a firearm everywhere I go. How much of a problem am I going to have when I move to California and carry everywhere? Fully understanding that CA laws and legislation bears no common sense whatsoever. Thanks

CA LTC is entirely location-dependent; each issuing agency has its own interpretation of the requirements. (It's a state license, issued by local Sheriffs and Chiefs of police.) Most of those interpretations are wrong, compared to state law, in some aspect.ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page
Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good! -
Agreed, you should be covered under LEOSA. What you need to do now is figure out where you are moving to (you probably already know this..) and start contacting local agencies to see who will qualify you under LEOSA.Stay classy, CGF and Calguns.Originally posted by bwiese[BTW, I have no problem seeing DEA Agents and drug cops hanging from ropes, but that's a separate political issue.]Comment
