    Thank you SDPD

No sarcasm here, I want to thank the San Diego PD officer (I will not put out his name but he was with a group of motorcycle POs) that gave my wife a speeding ticket for 78 in a 65 on 19 May on the 52. I doubt he will see this but thanks anyway. She had talked to a lot of her friends that told her to fight it. When she asked me I thought it was simple. I asked her if she was speeding when they pulled her over. She said she was so I told her the right thing to do was to accept the repercussions and pay the fine and she agreed. I will say that with money tight, it does suck to have to pay for this but personal responsibility is one thing that really lacks in this day and age. I hate the adage, but if you can't do the time don't do the crime. She hates computers but will do the online traffic school and we will pay the fine. I just hope it slows her down so I can buy a j-frame for us. I've always wanted a revolver

    A very respectable outlook.

Online traffic school is cake. The only thing that hurts is the money out of pocket and insurance.

Long before I ever became a LEO, I rolled through a stop sign, was stopped by a motor, and received a citation. I did it, I owned it, and I paid the fine. I did not then or ever harbor any ill will to the officer. It had the correct effect on me as it made me much more judicious in my driving.

The Chief of Police, Mayor, and City Council sincerely appreciate you paying the fine. They will use it for any number of really important government programs, and they promise not to waste any of it. I just heard they are thinking of creating a website where those drivers with a guilty conscience can just pay a fine directly even without being ticketed.

Or, they cite people in order to get their attention and drive safely.

Use trafficschool.com it doesn't cost that much and you can get it done in around 45 minutes. It's a piece of cake. They have been swarming the 52 lately I noticed.

I finished in 20 minutes by ffwd'ing through the videos and taking the test.
The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals.
Well, when there aren't enough criminals,

A lot of traffic school videos have measures built in to keep people from doing that. The one I took many years ago had random phrases inserted into the dialogue that you had to write into the answer key to make sure you watched the whole thing. Skip right to the test and you fail no matter what because you won't have those keywords.

Not to detract, but are you sure it was SDPD and not CHP? They are different.

A friend of mine in a similar situation and also in San Diego area didn't fight his speeding ticket, but did go to traffic court. Just because he appeared, and was honest and admitted he was speeding and why... the judge cut his $400 ticket to $200. I thought that was a pretty good discount. Also was eligible for traffic "School" to avoid points on his driving record. HTH c good

Not sure who it was but the ticket says SDPD at the top. Thanks to them either way.
