Just wanted to say thanks. (LE KISS-*** THREAD)

Thanks to Officer Ma of the LAPD.

Nice, young officer gave me a break on the right on red at Venice and Lincoln in L.A.. It was one of those "I have no idea where I am, I'll just follow traffic at this intersection" and I happened to be the guy that got tagged for it.

Everyone I told about the experience was shocked that LAPD of all agencies only gave me a warning. I want to be an LEO some day, and I still haven't had an experience that has soured me to LE. Even from one of the most reviled police agencies in the country.

Thanks man, I doubt you'll see this but I hope you know how appreciative I am.

Mod, feel free to delete this if you feel it's not a constructive thread, I just wanted to put a thanks out.
The right to self-defense is a universal human right and is not to be infringed. To erode this right is but an attempt to destroy it.

Cool OP, proves not all LEOs are out to get you.

This past weekend I was driving to my friends house. I turn right into the small street(his cross street) and then right again into his street which is a dead end. As i make these turns I saw a car behind me with it's turn signals flashing back and forward and I thought it was my buddies messing around as they pulled in behind me. Anyways I park and get out my car and this vehicle still has it's lights on and I hear a voice tell me "hey man you need to slow down" and I was like what? And approached the car realizing it wasn't my friend. Turns out it was an undercover agent and I guess he was technically pulling me over. He said I was driving over the speed limit and they were in the middle of a sting. I immediately apologized and told him I didn't even realize he was trying to pull me over due to the lights not being the normal red/blue and his windshield was really cracked. (Bullet holes I believe). He told me to just slow it down, I apologized shook his hand and thanked him. Even offered him a cigar but he declined. He never showed me a badge of anything but he had radio equipment and stuff inside the car. Afterwards I thought, why did he even let me get so close? I'm no threat but if It had been a random thug or group of thugs that could have been a bad situation. Anyways, thanks to this officer as well!
