hi cap magazine question

I can legally have hi cap mags, what if an intruder comes in my house and my wife fears for her life and my child's, shoots the intruder with my gun that has the hi cap mag in it.
Would there be any problem with that?

Possession of high capacity magazines is not illegal. Unless you're selling them to her I don't see a problem. The magazine is in the gun, in her house, she picks it up for a brief period of time to defend herself.

It'll be a glock 17 with 15rds in the mags.

Nothing illegal about using legal owned magazines in a Glock pistol.

Although I am wondering where you found 15rnd mags for a G17!

Doesn't the Glock 17 have a standard 17 round mag, and the 19 is 15?

But back to the question unless you are in SF or Sunnyvale it should be all good.
