For our LEO's out there, thank you

To our LEO Guys and Gals

Today a friend sent me the link of the 2012 dashcam of the Texas Deputy being shot and it reminded me to take a moment and to think of the hard and often tireless work you all do for us. Fortunately he was only wounded, but far too many of our LEO's are not so lucky.

I know none of us our happy when you pull us over for being stupid and speeding or slipping through that stop sign, but you are doing your job, even if it happens to be directed at us that day. Remember, we are pissed at ourselves for breaking the law, not you for catching us doing it, despite how we may vent.

I know you all have to enforce laws that many of you think are as silly, stupid and ridiculous as we do. Its not your fault, its ours for voting in the morons that pass them in the first place. (Got a no front license plate ticket 4 days after getting the plates, my fault not yours).

We know you all put your lives out there for each one of us every day. I wish I could say we would do the same in return, but we both know we wouldn't. We both know the average Joe is that, average and you are not. That's one of the things that makes you special.

We know that 99.9% of you are good, hardworking and professional people who do your best and keep us safe, we know that small minority of folks aren't, concern you as much as they concern us.

We don't say we care enough, but we do care, we don't say thank you enough, but we do thank you, be safe and end your shifts healthy and live, it is what we truly want.

And remember not to ticket me but ticket the other guy...

    A Calguner..

Thanks....it is always refreshing and encouraging to read posts/letters like yours. After dealing with an endless stream of gangsters, thugs and drugees, people like you help remind us there are still good people worth going to work for.

Came back on today for PM's and read your post to my shift. They've been getting hammered lately with complaints, short staffing, politics etc etc. They appreciated it more than words can express.

              Again, Thanks for the post.

It goes along way. I was stopped by two people the other day that thanked my partner and I. We both appreciated it. It's always good to hear. It trumps being told "F*** you!" and immediately having a camera phone shoved in your face to record your reaction.

I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone. It's rare to hear/read this.
