He was caught after a lengthy chase in San Jose. Suspect however not charged with shooting the officer but Assault with Deadly Weapon for using the car to assault officers according to media. Interesting to see what happens, without speculating too much.

Several years ago the San Francisco D.A. stated they would not seek the death penalty for killing a police officer. Very sad place, I feel sorry for guys who work there.
