Wow. Just wow. Sounds like you handled it right and didn't give them the opportunity to abuse you. It's gettin' scary out there.

To be honest I am still having a hard time dealing with what happened. If this did not happen to me I would not totally believe it coming from someone else..

At least they didn't get past intimidation and stayed within the law. Scary, but came out well. Hope things look up for you with the other issue!

That is very true, they did not attempt anything that was not within the law. I guess knowing the law and your rights in some situations can protect you just as much as those tasked with enforcing them.

Wow, sounds like time to lawyer up and have them investigate what is going on. Not like you want to show up at LAPD and be asking questions.

If they had gone there to arrest you, you would have been arrested.

I should also mention that on the card she gave me were hand written entries for the primary officers names and badge numbers.. Strange..

Yup that there. Don't think I have ever attempted to arrest anyone, and walked away once I found that person.

Why is it "strange" that they gave you a card with handwritten info on it?

They were there for the guns, not for you.

Now that's some funny stuff there, if I'm ever scared I am running to my garage. Because it will protect me.

Assuming it isn't just a story, they weren't there to arrest. They wanted to get permission to search the house and confiscate any firearms. You might give CGF a call. I think they are collecting prohibited person's checks like that. Oh, and be sure to thank Gov Brown while you're at it.

It happens to be the division between public and private places.
