Window punch is the way to go, get the one for the keychain, it can be grabbed while seat belted, where the hell do you keep a hammer? It needs to be accessible from the drivers seat. As with anything practice, practice, practice. Not any one tool will cover all situations,,,maybe she needs an ejection seat.

created and made in the netherlands where escape tools are mandatory in every vehicle since the nation exists below sea level. they are designed to be used on side windows as those break easiest, but will work on front and rear windshields with force.
Perhaps I missed it on their site, but I was unable to locate the price. Do you know it.

Also, it stated the seat belt cutter is for one time use, but didn't explain if that meant one seat belt only, not multiple ones in the vehicle. It did say cut yours and then release the others if there are more people with you, so it sounds like one belt only. If it only cuts one belt and the blade is then useless, I'd buy something else.

glass break (see the thumb button near the butt - you slide it and the heavy glass break pops out)

It is solid. I am pretty sure you can use it as a glass break just by the heft of it.

I second this. I have it in my car. I mainly have it as a 1st Responder tool. The likelihood of being able to use it to extract yourself is pretty slim but it's there just in case.

i would email the company for clarification on the single belt/single incident multiple belt question. given the composition of seat belt webbing it would definitely play heck on any blade.

the fact that this tool is designed to be mounted, its accessibility should never be an issue.

Everything I read states it's only good for one cutting. Or guaranteed for one cutting. I'm sure it would work for more but I would just use a knife or heavy duty shears if I was concerned about reliability.

                    Couldnt agree more.

The window punches are not hard to use. You just press them into the window and the spring built inside will force the punch into the window.

                      This.

Try swinging a hammer underwater if the car is submerged and water has already entered the interior.

Benchmade has a very good tool:

It will cut seat belts without injuring those under stress and has a spring loaded hole bunch.

I carry one in my truck and gave one to my wife.

Make sure she knows to try and break the glass before she gets submerged. If she cant, she will need to keep a cool head because the water pressure will prevent her from opening any doors until the pressure is equalized inside the car, which is scary since it means you have to wait until the cab fills with water first before trying to open any doors.
Best advice is to Google some survival vids pertaining to the subject. Cars that go underwater tend to invert which can really freak somebody out in that type of situation and disorient them.
