request for info on ear piece

    Allright Gents
I received the go ahead to provide earpieces for my Deputies. Our current radios have speaker mics with a phono plug for the ear piece to plug into. What brand and or model ear piece would you recommend. I'm hoping to ask those that are currently using an ear piece and have found their equipment comfortable and durable. Thanks in advance. Stay safe out there.

I've used these in the past, never had a problem with them.

The company was run by a cop, I don't know if it still is or not I know he is still involved with the company though. Customer service was always top notch.

Contact the person in charge of your motor detail. Your department has an open contract with an outstanding vendor. Might save you some time and red tape. You may even avoid the bid process.

I’ll second this. Since you’re looking for more than one, your radio shop (or contract radio shop) should be able to secure these in wholesale.

We run Moto radios and shoulder mics so our radio shop provided us with Moto earpieces.

The company your department's motor detail contracts with is PVP in Torrance.

My dept. issues one similar to this one. The end user then gets to buy whichever ear bud (or keep the stock one) they like. The stock earbud has good sound quality but blocks out ALOT of ambient noise. I guess thats a good thing if you were searching a building with an alarm blaring, but personally I prefer a fitted ear piece or a foam one that is more comfortable and allows for much more peripheral noises to be heard.

I got one of these and replaced my speaker mic. I like it, seems to have worked well so far.
