    Extended Ed via internet recommendations.

Long story short, my agency is going through some major top end admin changes. Some P&P changes are in the works which make me desire some new employment. I'm looking into a Public Defense Investigator job. Any recommendations on some internet based extended ed courses I could take to give myself a better shot at this job? I've got a year or so to prep, so throw em at me.
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

Have you done a tour in detectives/investigation? If not check the POST training site for the Detective School, Basic Criminal Investagitons or the ICI core class.

Another foundation class would be interview and interrogation. The POST site has some or you can check directly with BATI, 3rd Degree and Reid and Associates.

Give some thought as to an area of investigations you maybe interested in as well. Then grab a few classes to boost your knowledge. If you've put time on patrol you probably have the basics. The schools don't provide you with a magic solution but they do show you tools/resources that you may not know about from patrol work.

You may need to flex your schedule or take some vacation but probably better off than an online class.
